SJMGA Annual Meeting and Dinner

To all members of the SJMGA –

Yesterday at a meeting of the SJMGA Executive Council, we reluctantly admitted that we could not host our 2020 Annual Meeting and Dinner due to current pandemic restrictions. This dinner is always the culmination of a successful year and a celebration of what we have achieved.
This dinner is also the largest expenditure included in our yearly budget. Since we will unfortunately not have this expense, the Council voted to award each 2020 regular member of the SJMGA a $20 club shop credit. This will be reflected in your personal credit book shortly.
In addition to a celebration, the Annual Meeting and Dinner is also the time that we take care of the important business of electing our Executive Council Officers.

This year the Nominating Committee has come up with the following slate of candidates for next year:
President – Brian Smith
Vice President – Jim York
Secretary – Mike Hayes
Treasurer – Paul Schnobrick
Tournament Director – Jim Freudenberg

In accordance with The SJMGA Constitution and Bylaws, I will accept other nominations from the membership. These nominations must be submitted in writing and must include the signatures of at least ten (10) regular members supporting the nomination. I will accept these other nominations up to and including December 24th, 2020. (Please drop the nomination off at the Players Club … attention Lee Doiron.) If I do not receive any additional nominations, the Executive Council decided that the formal member vote should be waived, and the above slate of candidates be recognized as voted in by acclamation as of December 31, 2020.
While it is unfortunate that we could not have our Annual Meeting and Dinner, we are hopeful that 2021 will not bring us the challenges that we have had this past year. Maybe we can even schedule a 2021 Spring Kick Off Meeting.
